Colorado’s voting system should reflect Colorado’s voters – but it doesn’t. There are more unaffiliated voters than either Republicans or Democrats, yet unaffiliated voters are barred from casting primary votes. And the presidential caucus system is time-consuming, poorly organized and sometimes even nonexistent – Republicans chose not to conduct a presidential preference poll this year.
I believe in giving every Colorado voter a voice in every election. That’s why I endorse Props. 107 and 108, which will reinstate a presidential primary and open all primaries to Colorado’s 1.3 million unaffiliated voters. This is our chance to make our voting system work for us, and I will not let it pass me by!
I endorse 107 and 108 to make Colorado’s elections fair and inclusive.
